The Synergi story from Total E&P, UK

Synergi® - incident reporting and action tracking system is now available to all personnel onshore and offshore! Following a request to review the safety action tracking system in Total E&P, Synergi® was the system selected as the most suitable database for tracking and follow up of safety, health and environment related incidents. This one database is able to store all the information relating to any incident from occurrence through investigation, to recommendation, actions and the final closure stages. It currently records accidents, near misses, non reportable hydrocarbon releases, safety observations, audits, safety notices and emergency response exercises. In recording all of this data Synergi® gives the company the the ability to expedite clearance of actions, share information and learn from other sites through analysis, reporting and feedback. |

Synergi® was installed in the safety department in January 2004. Julie Logan, Safety Analyst in Safety, Health & Environment Department oversees the system.
“It has been challenging times to set up the system end ensure that all links with the remote sites are fully operational” she explains.
“We have just finished the first phase of the implementation phase and there is an ongoing programme of training being developed. Onshore and offshore visits to roll out the system are in place, presentations are being given and information has been posted on the intranet”. “We hope that this system will prove to be a valuable tool in the prevention of incidents trough a comprehensive cause analysis, tracking of actions trough to close-out and an in-depth analysis of data” concludes Julie.
